How life is treating me.

Well, it has been a while since I posted anything on my blog. Let me first undust the keyboard... OK, done.

What's new in my pathetic life? Not much I guess. Well, I bought a new scooter, my ex-G managed to crash my car and I bought a substitute for a meaningful relationship. No, it is not a inflatable doll. It is a beautiful little creature... actually two of them, fan foot geckos.

OK let me tell you something about my monsters.
Their names are Jennifer and Mike. Jennifer has hatched on 22nd of February 2008 and 2 days after Mike followed her. They are unrelated or rather they were unrelated. They are obviously in love if lizards know such a thing. The only way of recognizing her from him is the tail that she had bitten off as a youngster. The last centimeter of her tail is different colour. See picture... Well, I have only had them since April so all that I know from the people I bought them from. Here is something I had to find out on my own. They eat mostly black crickets and mostly at night. They aren't very playful, they are very easy to freak out and they don't really like to be touched. Only couple of days ago I got bitten for the first time. It was Jennifer trying to let me know that it was enough of me bothering them. It did not really hurt, but she would not let go. I had to literally pull her of my finger. Well, I still love them.

OK... scooter... what is there to say?
It is Gilera DNA 50 GP experience. Year 2002, but it was almost unused. It only had 347 miles on clock, which was enough for someone to manage to fall from it. Nothing really happened only right side cover got cracked.
The bike was restricted to 30mph so I needed to do some research of how to undo this. Did not take long and I find out that there are only few thing to do:

1st - change exhaust or saw off a blind pipe on bottom pipe of exhaust
2nd - take out this little ring from the front part of gearbox
3rd - change main jet in carb for a bigger one (56 recommended)
4th (optional) - change strings in rear part of gearbox

Well I have not done the last bit and it is already able to do 60mph which is more than enough for me.

Car crash
There is not much to it. As far as I know she was entering parking lot when someone was exiting it and he did not let her in the parking lot first and managed to crack left side of my bumper.
My insurance company (Halifax) is trying to take away my no claim bonuses, so I might end up only insuring myself next year. It is still going to cost me a fortune. Bloody ex-G. Bloody Halifax. Hell... bloody careless drivers...

One more thing I want to say... If anyone reads this stuff of mine, I am currently looking for a industrial placement for my placement year in any computer business, might you have any vacancy info (preferably within 10 miles from Kingston upon Thames) please drop me an email..
Thanks anyone who reads this stuff.

WAYN.COM

http://www.wayn.com/ or “Where are you now?” is a Web2 site where you can find old friends and possibly, if they are in your area, you can arrange a meeting with them. You can also meet new people.
Let’s say you are going for a holiday to Borneo and you are going on your own. You can search for people who have been or who live there. You can contact them to ask for advise like where to go there or you can even ask them if they want to meet with you there. Maybe they could show you around or take you to their favourite club.
Let’s see into details a bit more:
“Home” – shows you news and list of buddies and contains links to most useful functions of the site.
“Account” – lets you edit your personal details, get your lost password, delete your account or for some price subscribe for a better account which gives you some advantages.
“Club” – is a new function that gives you 4 questions like “what’s your dream destination?” just to see that destination in a chart of popularity. It also contain link to a online Java and Flash games.
“Profile” – Lets you read, edit profile and it allows you to change the view of your profile I guess (I am not sure because it just looks so unuseful) and again it gives you other links to the same functions.
“Friends” – list of your friends, where you can sort them to groups, write a story about them see who are their friend and their friends’ friends. You can also see the stuff they have uploaded and check what their birthdays are, what trips they took and read about the trips. You can also take a quiz about your friends profile if you are seriously bored.
“Mail” – There is not much to say, it is a mail alright. There are couple of extra features like real-time messenger, SMS messaging, eCards, Alerts.
“Who’s Online” – is just a link to a search engine for member that are currently online.
“Forums” – there are some good ideas there I think. It contains many forums to chat about anything. The best I found was a country book, where people offer help to other people when visiting their home town. You can also find a travel buddy if you are about to travel somewhere on your own.
Next 3 links I haven’t found that interesting because those functions are now all around, right I am talking about uploading and viewing your pictures, videos and blogs. But it is good to connect these with the stories about your trip, so everyone can actually see what you have seen there.
“Trips” – you can plan your trip and keep a track of all your trips. You can also view your friend trips.
“Travel guide” – can give you some really good ideas when you are planning to travel somewhere but you don’t seem to be able to decide. It has a lot of information about places that members already visited. It also contains a chart of most popular locations and picture galleries of these places. You could add new town to the database or just add new info about all town that is already in the database.
Last function is “Search” which gives you choices like search for Name, New members, Online members, who viewed my profile and very important “Search for flight” powerful search tool that searches over 100 travel sites to get you a flight ticket you desire.
Overall I think this site has some great ideas but the way it is graphically designed it just looks so chaotic, I am probably going to avoid. And there are just too many pointless functions that only make this site so much more confusing. The makers should just make it simple.
If anyone disagrees with my opinion or thinks that I have misjudged it my apologies.
